Argus West SPEAR Program’s SIU Lien Defense team successfully secured a 100% reduction of a $5,800 lien, forcing the lien claimant to withdraw at trial with zero payment.

At trial, our defense attorney asserted key SIU-based defenses that exposed serious compliance issues. The lien claimant failed to provide a valid DBA and lacked a National Provider Identifier (NPI). Further our investigation uncovered discrepancies in the renewal of their Fictitious Name Permit (FNP), including an incorrect medical license number that belonged to a deceased doctor at the time the document was signed.

With no way to justify their claim, the lien was withdrawn and the file ordered off calendar. This outcome reinforces the importance of thorough investigations, strong legal advocacy, and strategic defense in combating fraudulent liens.
