MRI Lien Dismissed With Prejudice After Detailed Briefing and Judge’s NOI
December 17, 2025
An imaging diagnostics provider sought $8,766.44 for MRI services, but the Argus West SIU SPEAR Lien Unit identified multiple issues requiring judicial review. At trial, the WCJ issued a Notice of Intent and continued the matter to 11/04/25 for an interim hearing, requesting an exceptionally detailed trial brief that broke down every date of service and addressed all disputed issues before she would issue a ruling.
The SPEAR Lien Unit team prepared a comprehensive briefing that met the judge’s heightened requirements, clearly outlining the deficiencies and lack of entitlement for each billed date of service. After reviewing both parties’ submissions, the WCJ entered a dismissal with prejudice, resulting in a $0 payment!
This outcome underscores the strength of the Argus West SIU SPEAR Lien Unit’s meticulous trial preparation and its ability to secure complete dismissals even in complex, document-heavy medical lien matters.
